the experience booth

Connecting with your ROOTS starts here in the Experience Booth. Various organizations will be present with their 'booth' or stand, in addition to the main sponsor FamilySearch. If you are interested in placing a stand for free, please Contact us.
Preparation
In order to start smoothly on your own journey of discovery, bring the following information to the event to connect your roots:
Name and date of birth of your parents, grandparents and if you have it, your great-grandparents!
FamilySearch
On large and small touchscreens FamilySearch can start the search for your ancestors immediately. FamilySearch has the largest database of family tree information in the world, which is accessible to everyone completely free of charge.
CBG | Centre for Family History (Centrum voor Familiegeschiedenis) is the leading organization in the Netherlands for genealogical research and family history. It provides access to a vast collection of historical records, personal archives, and family documents that help individuals trace their Dutch ancestry.
What CBG does:
✅ Genealogical Research – Offers resources and tools to explore Dutch family history.
✅ Digital Archives – Manages databases like WieWasWie, which contains Dutch civil records.
✅ Personal Records & Heraldry – Preserves family archives, coats of arms, and name history.
✅ Expert Advice – Provides support for researchers, historians, and anyone interested in their roots.
✅ Publications & Events – Shares knowledge through books, articles, and workshops.
CBG plays a crucial role in preserving Dutch heritage and making family history accessible to the public.
FamilySearch has had a great collaboration with CBG for many years and has recently become a FamilySearch partner library.
This means that the library is now equipped with digital access to FamilySearch’s extensive collections, giving you the opportunity to explore historical documents and records from around the world—all within the library’s walls. But there’s more.
From a partner library, you can:
• View restricted-access FamilySearch digital historical records.
• Access local and national resources.
• Receive research support from the staff.
• Request materials through interlibrary loan services.
• Gain access to subscription-based genealogy sites.
At the event, they will share their knowledge and expertise in optional workshops, and a staff member will also be available at their booth to provide explanations and live demonstrations.
Stichting Arjati ( Breda)
"Looking for your roots, for where you come from. It's very much the topic at the moment among the Indo-European community. The third and fourth generation are getting increasingly curious and maybe they also feel the urgency to find every bit of knowledge, the stories and the secrets about our ( personal) Indo-European past, before a whole generation layer will disappear and we can't ask them anything anymore. And where do you start your search when you don't have anyone left?
Such a search is fun and exciting, but also overwhelming; so much information and search options out there!
At Arjati, we like to connect the generations and we also want to provide a platform for the third and fourth generations searching for their roots. sharing knowledge, experiences, but also practical help by searching together for puzzle pieces and making discoveries together.
Come to our booth where we would love to talk to you about how we can build this platform together."
MyHeritage
Like last year in Amsterdam, Marie Cappart, representing MyHeritage, will again explain the services MyHeritage offers with a special focus on DNA kits you could use in your genealogy research, for example if you get stuck or are just way curious on which continents more of your ancestors might be found. Considering a DNA test? Start researching with Marie!!
